W and I have a new favorite hobby: reading together! We both love reading, many of you know that we have the books to prove it, but we have never really gotten into reading together. When we were still in the lower forty-eight W began reading A Game of Thrones from George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series and suggested I read it, so I did and loved it. We moved and got the first four books on our nooks. Then W read the second book and wanted to talk with me about it but couldn't because I wasn't getting around to reading it. Then I finally did and went on to blaze through most of the third while W was too busy. He caught up to me and the discussions that we have been able to have because of this are awesome. Finally we got the brilliant idea to read this series together, out-loud to one another and take turns switching off after each chapter. I love it and W does too. Not only does this keep us on the same page to discuss the books, it also helps me learn more about W and how he views the attitudes of each of the characters as he reads them. It's so much fun! Recently we both have been interested in reading The Hunger Games, who knows maybe we'll start that up too.
P.S. By the way, speaking of reading, I have thought it would be fun to get a group of friends together and create a book group blog, anyone out there interested?
